The care environment we offer can be ideal for people suffering from long term mental illness as well as Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s and Acquired Brain Injury. Our ability to provide high levels of physical care in an environment that also understands our clients underlying mental conditions enable us to offer lifelong support. The model of care we have developed lies somewhere in between a Residential Home and a Nursing Home. We recognise our client’s desire for life fulfilment by providing or enabling access to a wide range of individualised therapeutic activities both in and out of the Home. However, we also provide many of the care facilities, equipment and capabilities usually only found in Nursing Homes. Because the primary health requirement of our residents is often the provision of high quality and intensive caring, rather than medical intervention, we do not need to maintain a constant nursing presence; but instead spend our resources on higher staff/ patient ratios of competent, compassionate and qualified care staff, who provide 24 hour patient cover. © 2018 by Stratfield Lodge.
